Hetfo / Monday
Jok a hetfok, nem kell bemenni a varosba tanitani, es csak az irodaban segitgetek. Ehhez kepest sikerult a mai napomat eleg surure szerveznem.
Reggel gyorsan eljottem netezni, mert igertem par dolgot Peternek. Elkeszultem veluk, es meg csak fel 11 volt, ezert hazafele menet a My Friend (kedvenc ettermunk) utcajat valasztottam, hatha ott talalok valakit. Na persze, ott volt Emma, Trish, Mike es Cody. Csatlakoztam gyorsan es palacsintat rendeltem kaveval. Hm..milyen fincsi volt es kozben jot trecseltunk. Fel 12re epphogy odaertem Peterekhez. Megbeszeltuk a dolgokat, es hogy mik a kovetkezo teendoim, utana gyorsan indultam az elso spanyol oramra. David tanit, aki amugy meg a fonokom az Espaanglisch nyelvsuliban. Nagyon jo kis ora volt, sokat kellett beszelnem nekem is, es uj nyelvtant is tanultunk. Jobban tetszik nekem a perui spanyol a spanyol spanyolnal.

Es az ora utan kovetkezhetett az igazi moka: szorfozni tanulni. Bevallom, elegge tartottam en ettol, de mindenki mondogatja, hogy ha mar itt vagyok, ki kell probalni. Es vegulis igazuk is van. Szerencsere Giancarlos tanit, akit mar ismerek. Kaptam egy vizhatlan ruhat, amiben ugy neztem ki, mint egy kek beka..Ja, itt nem kell capaktol tartani, mert a Humboldt aramlat miatt annyira hideg a viz, hogy meg a capa se dugja ide az orrat. Eloszor a homokban szimulaltuk azt, amit majd a vizben kell csinalnom. Eleg konnyunek tunt, de gondoltam, ez nem lesz igy a vizben. Es mennyire igazam lett...Egyreszt hatalmas hullamok voltak, osszevissza dobalt. Masreszt egyaltalan nem konnyu felallni a boardon. Ehhez kepest szerencsem volt, elsore felalltam. nagyon tetszett, ahogy visz a viz. Utana leginkabb csak terdelni tudtam max. A legrosszabb a kutyauszas, ahogy a hullamok ellen harcolva kell visszauszni oda, ahol mar erdemes szorfolni. Giancarlos iranyba allit, es amikor jon a megfelelo hullam, elkezd orditani, hogy paddle, paddle, STAND UP! Nem konnyu elkapni a hullamot. Vagy masfel oran at hulyeskedtunk, aztan mar nagyon faradt voltam. Nagyon megmozgatja a karjat es hatat az embernek, erzem is rendesen.
De megyek maskor is, az biztos!:)

I like Mondays, I don`t need to go into the city to teach, I only help out in the office. I managed to makethis Monday quite busy though.
In the morning I came to the internet cafe to finish some stuff for Peter at the agency. I finished in time and it was only 10.30 while Peter expeted me by 11.30. So I took the street of `My Friend` (our faveouite restaurant) to check if anyone I know is there...of course there were the volunteers: Emma, Trish, Mike and Cody. I joined them for a nice pancake.
After breakfast I ran to Peter`s and we discussed everyhing I need to do this week. Then I had my first Spanish lesson with David who is my boss at the Espaanglisch language school. It was a really good lesson, we had many converstaions and new grammar, too. I prefer Peruvian Spanish to Spanish Spanish.
So after Spanish class the real fun started: my first surf lesson! I need to admit, I was quite worried beforehand, but as everyone says you should try it once you are in Huanchaco, I tried. Luckily my teacher is Giancarlos, who I know already. I received a water suit in which I looked like a blue frog. You dont need to be scared of sharks here because hte Humbuldt current makes the water so cold that no shark would like to try its luck here. First we were practising in the sand. It seemed easy, but I thought it would not be easy anymore in the water..and I was right. The waves were really big, and its also not easy to balance on the board. I was lucky to stand up at once. I liked it so much how the wave brings you...Later I was only able to kneel on the board. The worst thing is paddling..you need to swim against the waves. Giancarlos turned me into the proper direction and shouted: paddle, paddle, STAND UP! Its not easy to catch a wave. I was trying for at least one and half hours and I got really tired by the end. But I will go again, for sure!:) actually already tomorrow..
Szombat este / Saturday night out
Miutan megszuntettem a fejfajasomat a kirandulas utan, belevetettuk magunkat a trujillo-i ejszakaba. Eloszor egy karaoke helyre mentunk, ahol tobbnyire perui andalgos szamokat enekeltek altalaban nem tul fiatalok. Cody keresere a mi valasztasunk eloszor a Careless Whisper volt - nagyon vicces volt, ahogy o enekelte. Aztan elenekeltuk neki a California Dreaming-et, Mike es Juriena megprobalkozott egy iszonyat gyors perui szammal, ami csak felig sikerult. Ittunk jo sok cuba libret, ugyhogy jo hangulatban tavoztunk. Kovetkezo celunk a La Barra club volt, ami talan a legnagyobb szorakozohely Trujilloban. Nagyon sokan voltak, nyomakodni kellett mindket teremben. Igy is sikerult osszefutni par ismerossel Huanchacobol es az onkentes sulibol. Rengeteget tancoltunk, jo szamok mentek tobbnyire es nem csak salsa, amit parban illik tancolni. Cody figyelt fel arra, hogy amikor csapatban tancoltunk, olyan kozonseg figyelt minket, mintha valami nagy sztar banda lennenk. Igy jar az, aki gringo..Banatara inkabb csak fiuk kozeledtek, lanyok nem. Persze a mereszebbek oda is jottek es lekertek minket. Aztan ha mar nagyon untuk oket, elmenekultunk mashova. Egeszen fel 6ig tancoltunk, kint mar vilagos volt. Vegul fogtunk 2 taxit nagy nehezen es leleptunk. Emma utkozben kitalalta, hogy el kene mennunk valahova enni, persze semmi nem igazan volt nyitva...De azert beprobalkoztak es csinalt is nekik Giancarlos anyukaja cevichet (nyershal) reggel 8ra. Ezt en mar kihagytam es oregesen 6kor leleptem aludni..

Kirandulas / Trip
Suru volt a hetvege. Szombaton elmentem kirandulni a Fairmail csapattal Samne-ba.
A Fairmail lenyege, hogy perui gyerekek tanulnak fotozni onkentesektol, es az o kepeikbol keszulnek a kepeslapok.
Samne egy kis hegyi falucska, nemigen jar ott turista. Annyira nem, hogy amikor a mult heten Cody es Juriane elmentek felderiteni a terepet, az ottani gyerekek racsodalkoztak, hogy az embernek kek szinu is lehet a szeme, nem csak barna.
Tolunk olyan 1 oranyira van Samne, meg eppen csak kezdodnek a hegyek, tehat nem tobb 1000 meteres csucsok veszik korul a falut.
Erdekes, hogy az ido viszont teljesen mas, mint az oceanparton. Sokkal melegebb volt, es szep kek volt az eg is. Huanchacoban sokszor szurke az eg es nem sut a nap sem. Szerencsere hetvegente eddig jo ido volt mindig:)
Azert mentunk, hogy a gyerekek sok fotot keszitsenek, amikbol aztan kepeslapok szuletnek. Ez a misszio sikerult is, nonstop kattogtak a gepek. Kedvenc temaik a viragok es allatok voltak. Mindkettobol volt boven. Lattunk szamarakat, pulykakat, kiscicakat, kutyakat, kopasztasra varo csirkeket. Ebedeltunk egy aranyos helyi bodegaban, csak 4 S (= kb 160-170 Ft) volt fejenkent.
A helyiek nagyon kedvesek voltak velunk. Nem zavarta oket az sem, amikor egyszerre 5-6 gyerek fotozta oket zavaroan kozelrol. Egy nenitol kaptunk hazi keszitesu fagyikat, egy kiskocsmaban sorre invitaltak bennunket, es mindenki jol megbamult minket.
A nap eleg erosen tuzott ahhoz, hogy egy kisebb napszurast osszeszedjek, ugyhogy mire hazaertunk, iszonyatos fejfajasom volt es hanyingerem is. Gyorsan bedobtam 2 aspirint, mivel hatalmas buli volt kilatasban, amit leginkabb azert nem akartam kihagyni, mert egyedul kellett volna otthon maradnom, amitol meg kicsit tartok..

Phrasal verbs
Cody, az amerikai szobatarsam ma egy egyetemi csoportot ment tanitani, de gondban volt, mert nemigazan tudta, mik is azok a phrasal verbek - magat a megnevezest is kb 3 hete hallotta eloszor:)
Ugyhogy leultunk egyutt es adtam neki egy orat arrol, hogy mik ezek es osszegyujtottunk vagy 15-20at. Leginkabb en diktaltam, vagy ha neki volt otlete, lektoraltam, hogy az jo-e. Volt, hogy melle fogott:)

Elso tanitas / First teaching
Gondoltam, meg amig friss az elmeny, gyorsan le is irom.
Ma teljesen magamra hagyva kellett tanitanom a 2 csoportot: eloszor a nagyobb csoportot, ahol ma is 12-14 gyerek volt (2 teljesen uj). Nagyon aranyosak voltak, bar rengeteget cseveresztek. Mar tudom, hogy Gerson lesz a kedvencem, megha nonstop le is kell allitanom, mert mindig dumal:) De okos ahhoz, hogy mindenre rajojjon magatol. Eleg nagy a kulonbseg a gyerekek tudasa kozott. A lenyeg, hogy rendben ment minden. Arrol majd egy masik bejegyzesben irok, hogy ezek mennyire szeretnek puszikat osztogatni, de itt is megjegyzem, hogy mar a 2. napomon az osszes kisgyerek vegigpuszilt sorban allva:)
A masodik oratol sokkal jobban feltem. Csak 2 kislanyt kell tanitani, de nem valami okosak es nem tudnak semmit sem. Nyelvtant se es konyv alapjan se lehet oket tanitani, mert nem ertik es nem is tudjak felfogni. Csak szavakat. Raadasul az elozo csoportbol 2 masik kislany kint megvarja oket, es tegnap nonstop integettek nekik az ablakon keresztul..David mondta, hogy ne engedjem be oket az orara, mert mas szinten vannak es csak zavarjak egymas..
hat azert en csak beengedtem oket, es a lelkukre kotottem, hogy nem szolalhatnak meg, kulonben elkuldom oket.
Es bejott! Eloszor csendben ultek, aztan bevonodtak ok is, es nem zavartak senkit..

Vegul problema nelkul eltelt majdnem az egesz ora..a vegen meg vallatasba kezdtek, es spanyolul probaltuk megbeszelni, hany eves vagyok, miert nincs gyerekem, de mit csinal a ferjem, es szeretek-e tevet nezni..:)
Majd keszitek roluk fotokat is, biztos tetszeni fognak nektek is, nagyon cukik:)

They were really sweet, but talking a lot..I already know my faveourite will be Gerson, although I need to stop him all the time - he keeps playing and talking. But very clever.
There are big differences between the kids.
The main thing is that all went OK. I will write another post about how much Peruvians enjoy giving kisses on the cheek when greeting or saying goodbye, but I would like to note here as well, that I already received kisses from almost all the kids on my 2nd day!:)
I was more worried about the 2nd class of mine. There are only 2 girls, not really talented and speak no English at all. Neither grammar nor anything from the book for them. They cannot get it at all. Only words. So I was teaching body parts first and then the song "head and shoulder, knees and toes"..maybe they remember the words better this way. They liked to sing the song and were happy to show their head, eyes, mouth, etc. So at the end it was a funny class. I will take some pics of them!

Napi rutin / Daily routine
Ugy tunik, lassan beall a napi rutinom. Reggel nem kell sietnem. Az irodaban nincs fix ido, amit bent kell toltenem, inkabb magam osztom be magamnak, hogy mikor mit csinalok, es nagy reszet lehet internet kavezobol is.
Tetszik a munka: fejleszteni a folyamatokat, kitalalni ujabb marketing eszkozoket, amivel nepszerusiteni lehetne a szervezetet, talalni Kelet-Europai egyetemeket, iskolakat, ahol promotalni lehetne az Otra Cosat. Ha esetleg van otletetek, szivesen varom!
Dilemmam, hogy miket irjak meg a blogon, es miket ne..nem tudom, olvassak-e majd esetleg azok, akikkel itt baratkozom ossze. Mindenesetre ha magyarul leirom, abbol nem lehet gond:)
Peter (a szervete vezetoje) egy kedves angol ember, bar nekem kicsit osszeszedetlen. A Landrovernel dolgozott sok even at konyvelokent. Rengeteget beszel..Ezert inkabb ritkan kerdezek:) Juany, a perui felesege sokkal temperamentumosabb. Jo kis spanyol angolt beszel, de azert lehet erteni. Eloadasokat tart a Trujilloi egyetemen.
Az irodai munka (es blog iras) utan johet a tanitas. Keddtol pentekig du. 3-5 kozott fogok tanitani Trujilloban David `Espaanglisch` iskolajaban + hetente ketszer este 7-8.30ig is. Az esti oraknak nem annyira orulok, foleg mivel David ram akarta sozni a csut es pentek esteket..nem hagytam magam..ugyhogy majd felvaltva fogunk pentekent tanitani.

So my daily routine: in the morning I don`t need to hurry. There is no fixed time that I need to work for the agency. I can set the time for myself and I meet Peter from time to time to discuss what I`ve done. I can even work from an internet cafe.
I like to work: I need to think about developing processes, find out marketing tools to popularize the agency among future volunteers, find Eastern European universities where Otra Cosa and the projects could be promoted. If you have any idea that could help, please drop me a line!
After the office work I go to Trujillo to teach. I teach from Tuesday to Friday from 3.00 to 5.00 at David`s Espaanglisch school. I`ll have classes from 7 in the evening till 8.30 two times a week. I had dinner at his place yesterday where we discussed the details.

De az itteni pasik iszonyatosan nyomulosak..Buliban le nem szallnak a gringo (nem latin amerikai) lanyokrol..kotelezo tancolni menni veluk, es masrol se tudnak beszelni, csak mikor hogyan melyik lanyt akarjak becserkeszni. Nagyon farasztoak es idegesito is. A gringo pasik is beismerik, hogy nincs konnyu dolgunk..Pl szombat este Ahleigh (amerikai lany) beszelgetni akart Codyval (amerikai fiu), es nonstop jottek a perui pasik ilyen dumakkal: `van egy uj lepedom, most vettem..nem probalod ki velem?` Es nem zavarja oket, hogy a lany kozben egy fiuval van!
mondjuk nekem nincs nagy problemam: mindenkinel min egy fejjel magasabb vagyok, igy en nem vagyok nekik igazan erdekes:))

We are used to guys whistling after girls on the street in Europe. But guys here are more..they tend to be agressive when they want to get a `gringo` (non Latin American) girl. You HAVE TO go dancing salsa with them and they keep talking about how they search for their next prey and what they want from her..It`s really tiring and annoying. Even gringo guys admit it`s not easy for us. E.g. on Saturday night Aleigh (US girl) was having a chat with Cody (US guy) at the party and Peruvian guys kept coming to her to ask her out like: I have a new black velvet sheet on my bed..do you wanna try it with me?
Fortunately I don`t have manz problems: I`m at least one head taller than all of them so I`m no longer interesting for them:)
Buszok / Buses
- a tavolsagi buszon, amivel jottem Limabol, olyan biztonsagi elokeszuletek voltak, hogy csak neztem..A csomagokat le kell adni egy kulon erre kijelolt helyen, amin kap egy cedulat. Aztan amikor az ember felszall a buszra, felveszik videora, utana kulon biztonsagi ellenorzes van (a kezipoggyaszt is atvizsgaljak), es meg egyszer levideoznak, amikor mar a helyunkon ulunk.
A buszon kiszolgaljak az embert: 8 ora alatt 2szer kaptunk enni es inni. BINGO jatekot jatszunk: a busboy (=steward) sorolja a szamokat, es nekunk bingot kell mondani, amikor kilottuk mindet. Sajnos mivel nehezen tudtam kovetni (pedig spanyol oran mi is jatszottunk ilyet), nem en nyertem:) Nem is tudom, mi volt a nyeremeny.
- a helyi buszok, ami Huanchaco es Trujillo kozott kozlekednek, mar nem ilyen luxus buszok. Le kell inteni, aztan a busboynak fizetni az utert, es orditani, hogy BACHA, amikor le akarunk szallni. Ekkor a busboy elkezd minket surgetni es izibe el kell hagyni a jarmuvet. A helyieknek mar nem is all meg rendesen, csak lassit.
- collectivo: taxi, de sokkal olcsobb, mivel nem csak egyedul utazol, hanem csak akkor indul el, ha mar olyan tele van, hogy egymas oleben kell ulnunk..nem a kedvencem.

1. party
1. este 1. party...azt hittem, csak egy kis lightos este lesz, csak beugrottunk hamburgert enni..aztan..itt a happy hour azt jelenti, hogy 2 piat kapsz, eleg olcson. ezert aztan dupla adagokba vettuk a Cuba Libret 10 Soles-ert (570 Ft).
ittunk itt is ott is, talalkoztunk sok uj emberrel, koztuk Daviddal, aki a fonokom lesz a nyelvsuliban. Hat..az elejen szimpi volt, de ahogy ivott tobbet, kisse soknak ereztem. Dumal es dumal, aztan meg tancolnom is kellett vele salsa-t..brr..jo idiotan neztunk ki, 1 fejjel biztos kisebb nalam..Vele volt Jude Floridabol, aki tenyleg kicsit hasonlit Jude Law-ra:)
Legjobban a kis `csaladunkat` szeretem, akikkel egyutt lakom. A parti vegen egyutt mentunk haza es utkozben ciganykerekekeztunk az utcan:) a fiuk is! aztan meg Emmaval lassuztunk egyet George Michael-re..
ma van a surf bajnoksag..azt hittem, hatalmas buli lesz, de nem igazan. ugyhogy inkabb csak heverjuk a tegnapot, az amcsi pasik meg frizbiznek a parton:)

1. night, 1. party..I thought it would just be a light party. We started with eating just a hamburger, and then started to enjoy happy hour drinks. Here `happy hours` last 24 hours..it only means you get 2 drinks, relatively cheap. So we ordered Cuba Libres..
We drank here and there, met new people, like David (Peruvian) who will be my boss at school.
I like our ` family` the most: guys I`m living together with. at the end of the party on the way home we were doing cartwheels on the street. even the boys:) then I was dancing for some George Michael song..
today is the surf competition. I was expecting some big hit, but it`s not so..so we rather just rest on the beach, American boys playing freezbe:)

1. benyomasok / First impressions
Most mar Huanchacobol irok.
Itt van az ocean partjan az egyik internet kavezo:) es 1 ora csak 1 Sol, ami kb 57 forint.
Tegnap keso este erkeztem, es miutan Peter es Juany (az Otra Cosa ugynokseg vezetoi) koszontottek es megbeszeltuk az elso tudnivalokat, atsetaltunk a szallasomra, ahol epp egy kisebb parti zajlott.
4-en lakunk a hazban: Emma Londonbol, Andy Atlantabol es Cody (vagy Coby) szinten USA. Es meg sokan atjottek, akik szinten onkentesek, de nem a hazban laknak. Majdnem mindenki amcsi. Erdekes modon nem voltam meg hulla, szivesen csatlakoztam hozzajuk.
Hetvegen Andy elmegy, helyebe egy par erkezik - talan franciak.
A szobam eleg gyer: csak egy emeletes agy van benne, a padlon pedig semmi burkolat. Szegenyes, de megleszek. Heti 3800 Ft-ert teljesen jo.
Sajnos tegnap epp nem volt viz...ugyhogy a 38 oras utazasom utan jo mocskosan mehettem aludni:( minden nap csak 7-2 kozott van viz, akkor kell osszegyujteni annyit, hogy eleg legyen estere is. Ez itt sivatagos tersegnek szamit.
Nincs meleg, de nem is fagyok meg. Pulcsi nem art, a papucsban picit fazom - epp jo.
Tolem `nem messze` (olyan 7 ora buszut) van egy masik magyar onkentes lany:Dora. Tervezem, hogy meglatogatom majd.
Most hetvegen pedig nagy surf bajnoksag lesz, amit mar mindenki nagyon var:) lesznek nagy partik. A hullamok tenyleg jooo nagyok erre. Talan kiprobalom ezt a surf dolgot, az osszes csaj kiprobalta mar..
Kepeket tovabbra sem tudom, hogyan tudok feltolteni, de majd kifundalom.
Ja, lehet emilt/kommentet hagyni, fogom tudni nezni a netet eleg gyakran.
Gyujtom a kis fuzetemben az erdekessegeket, legkozelebb azokrol is beszamolok!

So I`m at my final destination, in Huanchaco.
I`m writing from one of the internet coffees, which is right next to the beach..it costs almost nothing: 1 Sol per hour (1 Sol is 57 HUF=0,25 EUR)
I arrived yesterday evening. I met Peter and Juany first (the leaders of the Otra Cosa agency), they greeted me and invited for a tea. Then Juany showed me the volunteer house where I stay with 3 other volunteers. They had a small party with many other volunteers.
So we are 4 in the house: Emma from London, Andy from Atlanta and Cody (or Coby) from USA, too. Many come from the US. Interesting enough I was not that tired, so I joined them for a little while.
Andy is leaving in the weekend and a couple arrives in his place - maybe French.
My room is very simple: only a bed, nothing else. No cover on the floor.
It`s OK, especially for this money: cc 15 EUR per week.
Unfortunately there was no water yesterday..so after my 38 hours ride I had to go to bed quite dirty:( We have water only from 7 to 2 every day where we need to collect water for the rest of the day as well. Huanchaco is at a desert area.
It`s not hot, but I`m not freezing either. You need pulover, but slippers are OK / just fine for me:)
There will be a big surfing championship in the weekend: parties, big fun! looking forward..I might try surfing sometime, all girls do.
I still cannot upload photos, but will find out.
So you can send me emails, comments I can check them frequently.

Utazas / Travelling
Eeeeeesss...itt vagyok Limaban!
meg nem tudtam eldonteni, hogy ennek oruljek-e, vagy inkabb gyorsan keressek egy visszaindulo jaratot..:) azert be kell vallanom, most rendesen elfogyott a batorsagom..
a NY-Lima jaraton talalkoztam 3 cseh sraccal, de nem lehetett veluk baratkozni, mert a csehen kivul semmit nem beszeltek. NY-ban a varoban velem szemben ult egy egyedul utazo amerikai lany, akivel szivesen beszeltem volna, de igy ultunk (kb 1 ora), vegig a mobiljan logott!!
Amugy ez a NY-i varakozas nagyon hosszu volt, kb 6 ora. De nem akartam kimenni a varosba, mert mar beesteledett es amugy se tudtam volna, hogy es merre kell mennem. Ezert aztan felfedeztem az airtrain-t, ami a 9 terminal kozott viszi az atszallokat. Azt talaltam ki, hogy innen lehet legjobban belatni a varost (inkabb Queens kornyeket, de a Manhattani karcolok sziluettje is szepen latszott), ezert aztan 3 kort is tettem az airtrainnel:)
A fontos dolgaimat es penzemet szepen eldugtam a polom alatti taskamba, es meg egy pulcsit is huztam ra.
Keszitettem par fotot arrol, ahogy megerkezunk Peruba - nagyon szep volt, az Andok magasabb csucsai kibukkantak a suru felho felett es epp jott fel a Nap. Majd Huanchacoban letoltom oket.
Most ennyi..megyek, iszom egy Starbucks kavet:)

Aaaand...here I am: in Lima.
I still dont know if I should be happy about it or rather take a plane and fly back..:) I have to admit, Im (cannot find apostrophe) Im a bit scared..
I met 3 Czech guys on the NY-Lima flight, but they didnt speak English (and my Czech is also far from perfect). In NY I also met an American girl travelling alone to Peru, so while waiting for the plane I thought we could have a chat..but she was constantly on the phone..for 1 hour!
Waiting for my plane in NY was really long..6 hours. I didnt want to go and see the city as it was alredy getting dark and I wouldnt have had enugh time anyways..So I decided to take the JFP airtrain that connects all 9 terminals. I took 3 rounds with the train:)
I already packed my important docs and money in a small bag under my shirt.
I took some photos of our arrival to Peru - it was amazing: you could see some peaks of the Andes over the huge clouds. And the Sun was rising..I will upload these in Huanchaco..
OK, thats all for now..I need a coffee in Starbucks:)
